September Athlete of the Month:

Jay Pierce

Jay has stood out this month with his hard work and commitment. Influenced by his friends, Jay started CrossFit a little over a year ago. He has underwent an incredible transformation, mentally and physically. With many recent PR’s, including getting his FIRST bar muscle up this past week, we found it fitting to chose Jay to represent our gym for the month of September. Jay is the guy who will spark up a conversation with anyone, and will also keep you there way longer than you want to be… He arrives focused and ready to attack every workout. Most of the time you will find him working hard with a protein bar in hand and a weight vest on his chest. We are thrilled to have Jay as a part of our community and will gladly be celebrating his success this month.


Some questions about our Athlete:

When and why did you start CrossFit?

“March 2017. I started because I threw up the first time I came to a WOD.”


What is your favorite movement? Favorite workout?

“Cleans… because I suck at them. My favorite workout is whatever is on the whiteboard. I like the ones that I don’t like at the end.”


What is your favorite meal?

“Grilled chicken breasts, roasted brussel sprouts, steamed broccoli, asparagus, brown rice.”


If you could be an animal, what would you be and why?

“Honey badger… completely fearless, Or Garfield… completely worthless.”


What is your WHY?

“My “why” is cause I hate being average. Im not a middle of the pack kind of guy. So if I’ve gotta get up at 4am & hit the gym to get in the front of the pack, I’m in. And if I’ve got to go to the gym twice a day to get better…. No problem, I’ll bring snacks!”
